Dr. Cindy Edins is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Educational Psychologist. She holds a Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling as well as a PhD in Educational Psychology. Dr. Cindy has over 20 years of experience counseling and 12 years of teaching psychology courses at local colleges/universities. Dr. Cindy has advanced training through the Beck Initiative for Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy for which she holds a current certification. She is also certified as a substance abuse counselor through the 7-Challenges program which supports the clients in making healthy decisions about their drug and/or alcohol choices. She holds certifications current in Motivational Interviewing, CAMS Anger Management, CANDS/ANSA, Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk, CAMS (Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality) Suicide Model, Survivors of Suicide support group model, QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer). Transition to Independent Processing Model, TREM - Trauma Recovery & Empowerment Model, DBT - Dialectic Behavior Therapy (through the Linehan Insititue) PCOMS (Partners for Change Outcome Managment System), Animal Behavior Specialist utilizes Animal Therapy in office. She also holds certifications through the Department of Social Work through the University of Georgia for her work with teens.
