Katina Edwards is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, currently working in the Stockbridge office of Georgia Behavioral Health Professionals providing adult psychiatric services. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Clayton State University and continued her education at Georgia State University receiving a Master of Science degree in Nursing with a specialty in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and a Post Graduate degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Katina is dually certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a PMHNP and FNP. She is a member of the following professional organizations: American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and Moving Ahead with Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurses in Georgia (MAAPPNG).
Katina has provided individualized psychiatric care and medication management to patients suffering from various chronic mental health conditions including schizophrenia, depression, anxiety and bipolar disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has worked with patients with substance abuse issues and severe mental illnesses, providing inpatient crisis stabilization and detox services. She is dedicated in the delivery of quality and compassionate advanced practice nursing care utilizing evidence-based practice. Katina believes in working closely with individuals in helping them to achieve an optimal level of health and wellness.
