Ashley Buffington is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Spiritual Director. She has been practicing for 10 years and has extensive experience in the areas of anxiety disorders, trauma, addiction, stress management, and depression. She received her Master of Science in community counseling from Mercer University in Atlanta, GA and graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, FLA with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. Her previous roles include providing individual, couples and family therapy as a therapist and clinical affairs coordinator at a counseling center; facilitating anxiety and spirituality support groups, providing counseling services to adolescents; and counseling people in recovery from substance abuse. Her experience in group practice, outpatient substance abuse programs and mental health programs within a non-profit setting has afforded her the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of people from various backgrounds.
Ashley’s approach is to therapy is eclectic. She believes in meeting a person where they are and guiding with a non-judgmental and caring style. She uses techniques from Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
