Nicole has a background in social work and takes a strengths-based approach to the individuals she works with. She uses evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and relapse prevention therapy. Nicole uses a systems perspective when working with various types of clients. The systems perspective looks holistically at a person’s life to gain a better understanding of a person’s difficulties and hardships they are facing. Nicole finds using this holistic approach in her work with teenagers as beneficial for difficult life transitions that can be experienced in adolescence. Nicole has worked with children and families utilizing trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as adults in substance use recovery, where she uses a harm reduction and relapse prevention model. Nicole focuses on substance use disorders, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, LGBTQ+ issues, and life transitions. Nicole enjoys gardening, training her dogs, and spending time with her spouse.
