Lashenna West is a Licensed Professional Counselor who will be providing services at our Georgia Behavioral Health Professionals Kennestone office February 2019.
Lashenna comes with a wealth knowledge and experience as she has worked in the hospital setting treating acute and severe diagnoses as well as the community and outpatient settings treating adolescents, adults, and Veterans struggling with PTSD, trauma, anxiety, depression, social skills, life transitions, assertiveness training, mood disorders, Bipolar disorder, and severe and persistent mental illness. Her specialties include treating PTSD and trauma, teaching clients how to challenge their beliefs and regain control of their lives. Lashenna is a strong advocate for therapy and mental health and believes that everyone should be given the opportunity and tools to help cope with life stressors.
Lashenna earned her Bachelor in Psychology with a Minor in Political Science degree and Master of Science in Clinical/Counseling Psychology degree from Valdosta State University. Lashenna works with clients struggling with PTSD and those who have been exposed to trauma, as well as working with adults and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, social skills, life transitions, mood disorders, Bipolar disorder, severe and persistent mental illness, psychosis, and assertive training. Lashenna's primary modality of therapy includes Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy.
Lashenna graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of the following honor societies: Alpha Lambda Delta, Sigma Alpha Chi, Golden Key International Honor Society, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Lashenna is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy for treating PTSD and trauma symptoms.
