Maria is passionate about building on client strengths to overcome obstacles in life. It is in teaching clients coping strategies that they are able to be successful in life regardless of past trauma. Maria uses an eclectic approach to therapy, including psychodynamic theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and a strengths-based approach. She has experience in working with clients dealing with anxiety and depression, suicidal ideation, abuse, parenting issues and divorce. Additionally, Maria has extensive experience in assisting ethnically diverse immigrant populations with the acculturation process to the United States.
