Melanie works on providing a safe environment and quickly builds rapport with her clients. She brings an extensive background of experience and education to assist clients in improving their lives. She has worked with substance abuse and mental health issues for 23+ years with adolescents and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She is able to assess and develop a treatment plan to meet the specific need of each client.
She has extensive experience helping clients who have mental health concerns and substance abuse issues. Her focus is working with age 7 and above. Issues include anxiety, depression, adhd, eating disorders, compulsive behaviors, anger issues, life challenges and self-esteem. She does individual, family or couple counseling.
Melanie employs a strength-based approach to address challenges and help clients make positive change. She utilizes a variety of skills to best suit each clients needs including cognitive behavioral therapy. Her collaborative approach to problem solving focuses clients in on the actions they can take to improve quality of life and decrease stressors.
Melanie has a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice and a Masters degree in counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Supervisor Substance abuse counselor.
