About Ophelia Blackwell, LPC

Ophelia Blackwell, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Stateboard certified Clinical Supervisor who has been practicing since 2006. She graduated from Kansas State University with a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision and cognate speciality in marriage and family. She is also a certified clinical counselor and was trained as fellow with the NBCC Minority Fellowship Program. She earned a Masters in Counselor Education from Virginia State University, and her Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University.

Ophelia believes in a humanistic philosophy to treatment which consist of trauma informed care. She integrates person centered, CBT, EMDR, and trauma informed approaches to care. Her main areas of focus include military and veteran families, PTSD, panic attacks, trauma, grief, and loss.

In her spare time, Ophelia enjoys traveling, gardening, cycling, and working as an adjunct graduate professor teaching and supervising interns and future clinical counselors.
