Tammy Denny-Smith is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Master's Degree in Nursing and started her career as a certified Family Nurse Practitioner in 2004. After working in Family Medicine for 13 years, she went to work in an outpatient mental health clinic treating adults struggling with mental health issues, addiction, incarcerated individuals and military veterans. She graduated from Washburn University's Post Master's Program in 2019 and became Board-Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Tammy believes in a collaborative approach to care when working with individual's and their families. She feels treatment is more successful when the person is an active participant in their treatment plan. Her main focus is to provide the tools to help an individual achieve their mental health goals.
Tammy is passionate about attending the annual charity event Life is A Ride that benefits handicapped, troubled teens and military veterans using horses as therapy. She loves spending time with family and friends riding horses, camping, hiking and enjoying nature.
