About Taylor Hawley, Clinical Intern

Taylor feels very passionately about creating a safe, open environment for clients where she and the client can work as a team to overcome whatever struggles they are facing. She strives to create a good therapeutic relationship by treating clients with genuity, acceptance, and unconditional positive regard so that they feel empowered and supported. She strongly believes in the importance of the mind-body connection and utilizes a holistic, integrated theoretical approach founded in psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral perspectives. She also believes in promoting client individuality and tailors her approach to the needs and goals of each client. Taylor completed her undergraduate internship with Project FREE, where she helped facilitate a relationship education program to couples across Northeast Georgia. She also has experience working with foster children through her volunteer work as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate. She has special interests in play therapy, anxiety, depression, and psychoeducation.

Education & Certifications

Taylor graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Georgia in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Human Development and Family Science. She has just finished her first year of Brenau University’s Master of Science Clinical Counseling Psychology program and is pursuing a specialization in Play Therapy.
