Timothy believes that we all have the power to heal. He focuses on being a compassionate helper by using solution focused and person centered care. The therapy model that he uses is based on the needs of the client. Timothy's primary area of specialty has been substance abuse; Timothy has been a Certified Addiction Specialist since 2004. He also has a great deal of experience in treating co-occurring disorders. He has provided recovery education and advocacy through appearances on television, radio, and in the newspaper.
Timothy worked with children, adolescents, and their families for several years at the start of his career. He continued to work with couples and families when his work experience shifted to substance abuse. His career progressed into leadership and supervision at two large substance abuse treatment centers. However, he kept his clinical skills fresh by filling in and often carrying his own caseload. Timothy has been successful in using individual therapy when working with those who have substance use disorders. There is hope, regardless of your situation. Timothy earned his Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 1992 and graduated with his Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling in 1995 from Stetson University in Deland Florida. He is also a Certified Professional Counselors Supervisor and has helped several Associate Counselors gain full licensure. He is the President Elect of the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia. Timothy also volunteers with individuals who are involved in the criminal justice system.
