Westlynn’s approach to therapy is eclectic. She uses a variety of theoretical approaches to meet the needs of each client. Westlynn is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She implements behavioral therapy, family systems, strengths, and wellness perspective along with solution focused therapy to assist the individual to examine their current story and narratives to assist in deconstructing the issues perceived and promote healing and restoring of the individual. She feels it is important for all individuals to identify their interpersonal skills, motivation, emotional strengths and their ability to find clarity in their current situation. Westlynn understands that a person’s emotions related to their current situation is the central focus.
Westlynn believes communication is considered the most important feature of good relationships. Therefore, it is important for the individual to develop new domains for positive exchange. Communication can also assist in the transfer of energy between individuals to enhance connection which initiates healing for the individual.
Westlynn received her Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Master’s Degree of Social Work from the University of Georgia
